Here are some oddball fish I've caught over the years. They are a piranha, a mojarra, a trieda, a bicuda, a jacunda, a tropical gar, a jaguar cichlid, some other type of mojarra, a black arowana, and an alligator I hooked in Florida on a plastic topwater frog.

They were caught mostly in Costa Rica and Brazil.

Sadly, most were not great fighters. The trieda are fairly strong but not amazing. The arowana jump a lot and are a lot of fun on light tackle. I wouldn't rate gators very highly pound for pound.

Also, piranha are terrible fighters. That one is from Venezuela.

One cool thing is the piranha make a growling sound when you take them out of the water. Not a grunt, a growl. And their eyes turn red. No joke.
