Ron, thanks again for the detailed report.

You got something for Ms. Yellowcat, and that is what really counts.

Thanks for the report. Those 'one fish mornings' are always tough days.

Thanks for the report Ron, good job on the bonito. I always seem to catch in that kind of weather, whether it'd be more fish than the others or a cold.

Hi one_leg,

Yes, that was a nice Bonito and I gave half to deckhand Cliff and kept the rest for Ms Yellowcat. She can eat portions of that Tuna for a couple of meals. She'll be a healthy and fortefied little guy against the Winter cold.

Ron

Great report as usual. Looks too cold out there to me. Fishing in that weather, I now believe you are tsurikichi

Great read Ron. The pages look better on this site, they don't break up.

Hi Shioda,

Thanks. In that weather, and the very negative conditions for keeping plastic in a place anywhere near the zone for over 10 seconds ... I had to call it after even the meat hangers were not getting bite for a 15 minute streatch !! Oh ya .... fish were there but ....... Yes, tsurikichi is about it !! In Japan, one of my nicknames was sukeberyoshi !!

Hi KareemKorn,

Thanks. Yes, I don't know what the issue is but ...... their loss. The report displays correctly for a split second until ............ greed takes over ....... if you catch my meaning !!

Others say it displays ok so .......... it may be OUR settings. Whatever .... nice, comfy home here at FNN.

Thanks for the heads up and later,

Great informative report as always!

Looking forward to you deciphering the Japanese Fishing Tackle Number system. That would be helpful for those of us that occasionally dab in the "JDM" stuff.

Hi sansou,

Thank you much. Almost all fishing products have metric labeling in Japan. Truth is ..... if someone is familiar with the metric system that pretty much takes care of the line test/length/diameter (kg/meter/mm). And, lures and weights (sinkers) (g) are pretty uniform but not the rod/reel-ratings. Sometimes the 'traditional' numbering kinda goes overboard. example: certain types of nets !!

Heck .... even I don't know the nitty-gritty on the Japanese rod specs but someone like Capt. G, being a rod builder there, would have that down pat.

With the huge acceptance of PE line, as opposed to the past where monofiliment line was the defacto, line numbers have lost their familiarity .... with ratings going further to a greater combination of diameter, tensil strength, sustained load rating, strands, and material !!

Hi again shioda,

I was in an international running club called the Hash House Harriers their motto ..... a drinking club with a running problem. Got it from them and it spread to my fishing buddies. Better than ... 'Honto .... honto ni henna gaijin' or 'Dajare no Osama' Pretty wild bunch liked to run, drink, fish, and well.... I wasn't in Japan for 30 years for the Zazen !!

Hi FISHSTIX,

Yes ... yes .... we've fished together before .... if memory serves. I want to get out but the weather is killing us !! Wednesday is the 1st so I don't want to go (for the crews sake) so I've got to get in a couple of trips before then.

Thanks,

JapanRon
