Got down to the landing bright and early as usual, and waited for the others to show up. We rolled off the dock with 14 anglers, and started by heading up the line. Our first spot was slim pickings. So, we moved out into some deeper water, where we got into some sculpin and tomcod. Nothing special, so we tried one more spot in deeper water. Tons of blacksmith perch, and no bass. So, onto the inside boilers.

The first boiler looked promising, but the fish were picky in the 56 degree water, so onto the next boiler. This immediately produced a nice 2.5# calico bass for our friend, Lee. This was tanked, but unfortunately died later on. A couple of more bass and a ton of blue perch, and then, we moved on down south.

Our next spot started off slow, but quickly picked up enough for a couple of nice goats to come aboard. This bite didn't last long, so we moved down south again.

Our final spot started off very nicely. A couple of our friends pulled up some nice sheephead, along with all of us catching some perch and a few rockfish. This bite was pretty good until Lee caught the jinx fish, the moray eel. Then, the bite was no more. Fished it about 20 more minutes, and then, we headed for home. JP went to our friend, Jeanne's big sheephead. I ended up with only a legal calico (released), and several perch, but decided to take a picture with the big sheephead anyway.

Okay day for cold and crappy conditions in 56 degree water! But, it was a beautiful day nonetheless. Here's the rest of the pictures. Merry Christmas from me and the Regulars here at Dana Wharf Sportfishing.

Great work Jimmy! It's slim pickings out of Dana in the winter.

I'm not sure if you remember me, but I fish out of Dana quite frequently (except winter)
I fished with Lee and Jeanie, when both Lee and I pulled in the first Dorados of the season on a twlight trip (Sumfun)

I also fished with you and your dad on the Helena when we scored a mess of dorado. You remember that trip cause you won the jackpot, and nutty Eddie harassed you all day long!

Keep up the good work Jimmy. You're a good little fisherman!

Conditions weren't ideal in the morning, but by afternoon, it turned out to be a beautiful day.
