Thanks - smallies are by far my favorite (if its hard to tell). I've got a lot more photos, these are just highlights.

Wanted to show you guys out West what the mountains of the east hold.

Thanks guys.

All of the fish I caught this year were on flies but for the most part it was no different than fishing a swim bait or crank bait. You'll see a few dry flies there but mostly just for sunfish or fallfish when the smallie bite was off. I fished subsurface almost entirely and poppers if there was any top water, though everyone fishes poppers here so they stay away. This year the colors were brown and orange and black and chartreuse - it will be interesting to see if the ones I released smarten up this year and if I have to get more inventive with my colors.

Thanks,
We hate "the city" too. I live no less than 4 hours from NYC and if I have any say in it, won't get any closer except to catch a plane. Its a whole different world, here to there, and the further north you go, the better things get.

Here is another redbreast I caught - I caught one early in the season (May) guarding her nest right before spawning I'd guess, because she took line on my 5wt, so much so that I thought it was a decent smallie. Over 11" long and had to weigh close to 1.5lbs. Unfortunately no photos - the average redbreast looked like this guy, nice and healthy and by far the most agressive of the sunfish in the area (a shame they're rare and getting rarer).

You fish streams and small rivers alot??? I live fishing small rivers or streams for smallies and panfish, people just don't understand how many fish you can find in a very small creek or river. sometimes you have to walk a minute but they'll be there.

Absolutely - I love small stream fishing. The small stream I fish holds Smallies and hold-over Walleyes (ones that get trapped after they spawn in it). Its a tough stream to fish but holds big, fat smallies. I also fish streams/rivers for trout but they're mostly bigger. I'll be hiking up into the Adirondacks this year to fish for native Brook Trout that measure in 1's of inches. Sounds boring, but its more about the journey.

Here are some of my small stream catches.

These are our stocked rainbows, we also stock browns and brookies

Thanks guys - right now its Ice fishing season, and I've only been a couple of times this year so not many photos. I'll post them up once I get a few.
