Since my buddy's boat is in the shop (actually, in pieces in his garage and driveway), decided to try the local sportfishing scene. It's been about 1.5 yrs since I've been on a cattle boat and decided to hit the City of LB (pm session) with my fishing partner.
Very light load with about 13 anglers and a few kids and non-fishing types. Although the boat went for bonita in the am, the cpt. headed about 1 hour out to see how the rockfishing was going.
In summary, pretty slow w/ a few sheephead and assorted tiny rockfish. The squareback circle rockfish (not sure of the name) was the only thing biting, so I had to change my setup from the 2/0 hooks to a lot smaller hook. Total count for us- 10 tiny rockfish, 1 ling, 1 sanddab, + too many seagull snacks
