it has come to my attention that white bass juveniles are extremely fragile and that most wsb juvies will actually scar from being held for too long and are also very prone to dying from the stress and shock of being taken out of the water. rather than CPR a juvie, just release it. i myself would rather catch the grown up and take a picture than catch the juvie, take the picutre and risk it dying.

Just wet you hand and keep the head in the water which will prevent the fish from going into shock and thrashing around. Then you can take the pic :wink:

Hi rusty6,

Yes indeed ! Some of the sporties GOOD skippers won't go where they know there are a lot of juvinile WSB in the PV coastline close in the kelp.

There are also some super anglers PB anglers like Tailman and Kman that fish PV all the time where there are swarms of baby WSB but I sense that they avoid the areas way up in the kelp where the small croakers live and take refuge! Due to what you are talking about.

Total respect for the fishry!! Welcome aboard to yet another clued-in angler!!
