Went on the Endevor out of Seaforth for the day and a half to Punta Colnett. I usually go in the fall and this year was no different. After the night ride down we started fishing for the yellows at 6 am. YoYoing Scramble eggs tady 6x was the best ticket. We were fishing in 180 feet of water with the yelolows no more than 20 feet off the bottom. I lose 2 to the rocky bottom, and my line came up frayed like like strips of cotton candy. As the sun started to shine the Yellow bite died down and we turned to bottom fishing. We drifted over a productive lingcod area and they stared coming over the rail. Once again I lost a couple big lings as they quickly darted back to their underwater layers and cut me off. Next spot was in the 300 feet range and drifted for the reds. I was brings up 2 to 3 at a time, also in the mix was some monster white fish, salmon grouper and starries. I ended the day exhausted with a full gunny sack. After the wonderful primerib dinner I quickly fell asleep. Beside the lost yellows and lings the day was gorgeous and the time on the water was well spent.
