It was about time for another Bishop trip again so i told my parents that we gotta fish the open season waters one last time before we say goodbye to them for 6 and a half long months..

Made it up late Friday after school... planned out the next day and hit the hay.

SATURDAY-
We decided to head over to one of my favorite low elevation creeks b/c it'll be considered "closed" in a day... It proved to be a very good decision because the daytime temp was right at 73 degrees.. perfect.

Fish were happy to play along too...

and i almost left out the whopper of the trip...

Total for the day-
me= 2 bows and 6 browns (released), all on mepps or gold panther martins

dad=2 bows and 2 browns (released), spinners/nightcrawlers

SUNDAY-
We didn't have that much time otherwise i would've definately shot up to PVR but i was content with hittin up the river so we headed over to east line and followed some dirt roads... found a pretty nice spot that im sure alot of you guys on here fish all the time..

Its a very open spot and it produced pretty well

hook up!

This one we kept cuz my dad set the hook a lil late :/

I totalled out with three 'bows and surprisingly a largemouth too... a lil late in the season but i aint complaining. I was fishing with these 'micro lights' i picked up at bass pro (probably explains how i got the bass) but does anyone else fish trout with these?
Heres what i was using..

i had a problem with the two trebles constantly hooking together so every other cast i had to fix that... got kinda annoying.

My dad got 2 rainbows and a nice 14" brown all on the crawlers.

All in all it was a good trip and i can't wait to head up for the thanksgiving weekend... this time im definately hittin up the rez.. the fishing should be incredible over there right now

Good job on the fish, and to answer you question I use small cranks for trout most of the time. Along with mini jigs, they are my go to lures.
