View Full Version : Lake Mathews Almost Dry..!

This year I have really noticed Lake Mathews losing a lot of water. Usually it would go down and then back up again. But not this year.

This is a water supply lake in Corona, for those of you unfamiliar with it. It is not open to the public.

And in some pics there are some workers clearing brush. Because of fire season.

While I was snapping off some pics an older guy in a SUV pulled up and was watching me, he seemed to be some kind of ranger or something. He said he has never seen it this low either, and he thought it was only about 50 ft deep at the deepest part...

All that great structure that the public cannot ever get at. :Evil:

It looks like there is enough water to fill the Vine to the brim this season.

Yeah, my friend told me the other day that some guys he knows pull 3 foot long stripers and catfish out of there regularly....:Secret:

SoCal glad you had the pics, if you remember a couple months ago i stated that it was getting low and and everyone told me i was crazy.

haha the water may be down but the fishing is awesome! im talkin 10lb+ cats are the norm and 5+ stripers!!!! sucks to have to walk that much farther to the water but i guess its worth it... still have yet to get a bass out of there though
