Found this guy out there today stalking food on the wall.
Haven't checked on the giant lizards lately though.

Yes it is.

Here is the best pic I could get with my other camera. That thing is hard to photograph.

This picture reminds me of the mantis my buddy had in his backyard. Everyday they would go find bugs and put it on the tree for the mantis to eat. It was a pretty cool pet until the santa ana winds came and no longer was a mantis on the tree....

The first time I saw one of these I was about 10 or so. I just ate it hard on my mini ATC50 in my grammas back yard and landed face first in the dirt. I was about to start balling my eyes out but when I opened my eyes I saw a little green mantis 3" in front of my face in a bush. I totally forgot about the motorcycle bail and played with the mantis all day.

This here mantis has been chillin' by the back porch light for a couple days now. I'm willing to bet he waits until night time for the bugs to swarm the porch light and has a late night feast. I don't know if it knows how to get down or not so I'm just leaving it there. Hopefully the lizards don't come down from the attic and eat it!

I know he's alive and kickin'. I tried to catch him on a "fingerbait" but no nibbles  I'll just let him defend his post. Come night time the lighting will bring food straight to him.

Their eyes change color at night! They were clearly green before but they're all red now

It's definitely after bugs attracted by the light. The light also helps reveal he has battle wounds! (ok I'm done with the bugs now..)
