Newport Bay - 6/02

It was 160 or so kayaks and me in my float tube in the Western Oudoor News "Plastic Navy" Newport Bay Bass Tournament

Best 5 fish limit...All 3 species of bass legal...13" min. length

I fished hard all day long and kept getting good fish... Total dream come true man...It was awesome

The Plastic Navy people were top notch...Very cool group to fish with

The folks who ran the tourny did a awesome job as well

If you fish kayaks I recommend you check them out

I end up with something close to 11.5 lbs...My biggest fish was 2.7 pounds....All spottiez

First place $$$...Pretty cool

nice dude thats a solid stringer. I think the 1st place stringer for the San Diego one was 13 something and $2000 prize. so how did you place? I wanted to fish that so bad, for sure next time.

Hey sullyfish,

quick question for you:

How did you keep the fish in good condition till you got to the weigh boats? I would like to know this info incase I enter a tourney in the future!!!

You must have a live well...I made a homemade one out of a laundry basket

Dude i just picked up this weeks issue of WON and those guys are haters. What are they trying to say when they wrote. "someone forgot to tell him it was a kayak tournament" the rules specifically says float tubes as well. Any ways its cool to see your ugly mug on the first page man. I bet there will be a lot more tubers next time around.

oh yeah out of 169 anglers only 80 or so weighed in and about half of them only had 1 fish so there was some serious competition out there, Congrats Pat.

Hey sullyfish.. Not trying to steal your invention or nothing, but could us members get a photo of that homemade livewell. Maybe a nice photo of your setup. thanks
