Friday I got Picture Text from my “pot-nah” Kevthecatfishstudent of the Legal Halibut that he caught. I knew at that moment that he and I would be back in the Bay on Saturday! The fishing was great. I had skunk off with a spottie on a Storm Swimbait within ½ hour. I fished really hard and went through a variety of baits from Mike Gardner AA’s, Gul, Storm Swimbaits, Spinnerbaits, Mr. Twisters. Today Kev caugt another legal Halibut that was bigger than the one on yesterday. No photo as he released it before I could get there. My camera is in the shop so I dug out my old Digi-Cam with 0 mega pixels. Turned out to be one of my best days in the bay. I got several Spotties, Two Croaker one twice the size of my hand. The second was my second best fish ever in the bay. The picture does it no justice but it had good length and girth as I was pulling it in a group of people in a yacht stopped and watched me-then they started clapping and cheering- It was a great moment because I loved the attention. Immediately, 4 anglers rushed to the spot where I set the hook! I also got a short Hali.
This flow is done (in my head) to the flow of 50 Cent’s “Hustler’s Ambition”.

Had a big Bay day,
Took notes from Gary & let them feel the steal,
Almost got my rose snatched up by Seal,
Rotweiler, might have been a Sea Lion,
I’m a get this fish in,
Or cry tryin,
On the real, Seal,
Ain’t no rift,
I’m a pick up another one,
Once I start this drift,
Santa Fe’s an Aristocrat,
I use brand name baits,
Like Gulp, Storm, and Tungsten Weights,
Slow your roll son,
For goodness sakes,
While daydreamin about Halle,
And her milkshakes,
I tied into this Hali,
Awakened by her head shakes,
Then I “Un-Wet” her
For a few photo takes.

yeah I fished the bay for months without a fish. I read Mikes book and caught fish on the next trip.

I actually release all my bay fish and even my first and only legal Halibut but with my real camera broken I was going to take this fish home and take some pictures of it with my wifes Digital Camera. I don't know the hierarchy of Saltwater fish so I didn't risk it.
Yeah Peer Pressure is good sometimes. You are a great contributor to the board and a huge contributor at FNN events. As they said when I was in Negril last Summer " Ray-spect Mon, Ray-spect"

I know that spot well, I pass by it everytime I launch my boat there, it's about 8' to 13' deep there generally....a long sweeping dog leg left turn there....theres actually some area that can be used for shore fishing too but I'm not sure where you would park....I see those short WSB launch out of the water there quite often early am or late afternoon..sometimes clearing the water by a foot and a half.

I'll share a good lil hole/tip....right after that area where the photos are taken, heading out to the open harbor, fish the tressles right where the PCH bridge is.....2nd and 3rd tressle on left at incomming tide heading out towards open water, fish the high side of the tressle on back to the low......incomming tide only....fish jigs going upstream at mid to 3/4 depth....keep the jig in the strike zone and get ready...fish close to the tressle and be prepared to lose some tackle.....
Theres also a drop right after the tressles usually on the low side about 12-18' from the tressles...good spottie spot

It's go time !!!!!! try it.....ya won't be dissapointed if it's the right time of tide

Big E my dude. The Rhymes are on point as always. and as always thanks for fishing with me dawg. When I was driving all over the world (LOL) I was craving the Bay action and wasa glad I was able to fish it with you. Congrads on your photo of the week. I think you should do like sports players do when they win mvp, the buy their supporting cast a rolex. But for my great photography while on the tub mind you, I'll settle for a Kalin grub or one of those AAA. Keep attacking that bay and postiing so that I can get my fishing fix while im on the road.
