I wish i can do or die with the plastics like you. I guess it all about the challenge. I just can't stick with the plastics when guys next to me keeps hammmering fish back to back with the live bait. I'll have to try the squid next time i get out. Never caught a sheephead b4. Thanks for the very informative report.

Hi ghetto dad,

I'm thinking that the Shrimp was the key. Man ... everything was biting the Shrimp .. Whitefish, Rockfish .... BIG models .......everything except Bonito (I think).

As you can imagine .... there were tons of small girlie Sheephead too that were short but still big enough to return to their homes unscathed !! Pretty much non-stop action.

Thanks. Seeing all those fish come over the rail .... making a zillion casts, and stopping to take so many pictures of others success made for a very looooooong day as you can imagine. I really felt beat-down phyiscally and mentally. The only points, besides all the stolen Bonito and a couple of rattlesnakes was the tenacity I mustarded for 'NEVER GIVE UP'.

Hi fishmaniac,

Don't worry I'm not bent but actually I only fish on the boats once or twice a week presently. AND ... who said I fish for FREE ?? That's BS .... anyone who said that hasn't seen me in line for every trip I go out and paying for my ticket and NUMBER ........nope .... I pay good money for MY SPOT quite unlike the deadheads and owner/skipper friends !!

If some moron told you differently .... he doen't know me nor been in line with me or on the boat with me !! For me .... paying for my ticket gives me the absolute right to fish on the spot I want to fish ... and God help the idiot that thinks they can fish in the spot I've bought and paid for !! ha ha ha

Whew .... glad that's straightened out !! Oh ya .... I only fish plastics and yes I don't keep fish but give all my fish away ..... well there's that one Mackerel for Ms Yellow Cat a feral cat in the neighborhood !! ha ha ha

Yes.... only two Bonito were bigger ... the JP winner at 7 or 8lbs (I didn't get a pic of the winners fish) and mine .... head only lost fish. Deck and buddy said mine was a good 8 or 9 pounds.
