Aren't you suppose to pound them out with a mallet as well?

I don't know if it makes a difference because I've never done it any other way. I soak the pieces in milk for at least a half hour, rinse w/ fresh water and then lightly pounded them. After that it's up to you. I've tried egg wash followed by bread crumbs and I tried tempura. Both came out great. I want to see how it is without breading & frying, maybe just sautee w/garlic and olive oil over pasta?

what worked better for me was laying the steaks on the street and running over them, then back, with my F250... :D

In the days prior to the invention of vulcanization of rubber, prehistoric anglers would stitch the big squid pieces together, add a little air, and create a naturally scented float tube for Newport Harbor. I read this on Wikipedia.
