What do you guys use for rod floats? I've seen TJ's pics with some sort of foam wrap just above the handle. Where could I get some of that foam you use TJ? Anyone else do things differently?

Go to ur local hardware store and you can get something simular to that in the plumbing section, they use it as pipe insalation.

Poxy Boggards,

I use the Blakemore Rod Floats, which come in a 3 pack for $9.99 at Bass Pro. I made the purchase after fishing with Tj, he also recommended them. To test them, I droped my 7'11" swim bait rod with a Shimano Calcutta 400B in the water, stayed a float. Here is a link, www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_16517____SearchResults.

They only issue I have with them is, on occasion, your line will get caught in the velcro strap, not a big deal.

I bought mine from BPS also. Tried them in the pool and they kept my flipping setup afloat.

Go to walmart/kmart and get a $3 pool noodle and cut off 6" or so and then cut a somewhat spiral line down the middle so you can slide it on and off the rod and it won't need the Velcro straps to hold it on because when you slice it down the middle you should had done it at an angle(slight spiral).
