Fished the Matt Walsh today. It was very foggy in the morning, and burned off as the day went on. We fished for rock fish throughout the whole morning. A cabezon got the heaviest fish, but the kid that pulled it in was not in the jackpot - his dad was in the jackpot though -doh! (A lingcod ended winning jackpot). We had great live bait, but they were huge. Too bad the bonito never showed up. I caught a sheephead, a couple of sand dabs and a million little rock fish.
I specifically went to hang out with my father in law, but won't be going out anytime soon. I just didn't like pulling up all those small rock fish. The boat, captain, and help were great, don't get me wrong...but just hauling in small rock fish, one after another just didn't vibe with me (by the way I don't blame the boat for this it just is the way it is).
