Pursuit 10-23 Catalina Isl. Dead whale n sharks

Headed out for Catalina yesterday aboard the Pursuit. Weather was nice and warm. Water stayed pretty calm throughout the day. Fishing is still great at Catalina!!!! It's been 2 very long weeks since my last trip to catalina. Catalina greeted me with a nice Wide Open action of bonitos!!!! Great way to get rid of the shakes... Stuck a few calicos as well. Got a nice big calico fishing big dines on a 1 oz sliding sink. I fished the surface about 90% of the trip. Some people were catching various types of great eating bottom fish not sure what they're called though. Awesome crowd, Top notch Crew along with great fishing pretty much sums up the day. Thanks pursuit for another great trip in paradise. Here's some random pics and video links
Poor video quality hard to see under water. Youtube doesn't help as well when they compress the video thats uploaded. Whale n sharks looks so much bigger in person compared to the video....


Saw a dead whale on the way home from catalina. Quite a few sharks swimming around it.

Missed the shot kinda slow on the trigger...The Great white came up like the movie jaws and took a chunk of meat from the dead whale.

Poor little innocent Gray Whale !! Oh well .... accidents happen and I suspect that there was something wrong with the creature to allow itself to be hit by a ship !!
