We headed up to the Sierras for our annual fall trip, on Oct 10th. Even though we heard there was a front moving in, we went anyway. The weather was cold and snowy, the high got up to 30 degrees, 17 at night. Glad I wasn't camping. We ate some real good hot food and drink at the Mobil Gas Mart, and hit Jacks in Bishop on the way down. Caught a handful of small stockers over 2 days. It was quite a sight to see all that snow so early. I hear it will get back up into the 70's next week, should be good. Lots of fish cruising, they should be really hungry next weekend. Here are a few pics of our 'frozen fish sticks'.

Hope it snows like that the first week of November! Nothing better then fishing in the snow, as long as the wind isn't blowing! Sounded like a good trip.

Temps at Little Virginia lake near bridgeport yesterday morning was 3 degrees. :EyePop: That's with 6 inches of snow on the ground and 20 mph winds. No thanks, hopefully the weather will be nice in 2 weeks when I cruise up.

Thanks for the post. Fall seems to be finally here! Crazy how quick the weather changes right now.
Beautiful pics with a little snow on the ground.

Sweet trip. Thats unusual though. The first few snows usually bring awesome fishing, especially when the day after is nice and sunny. I've had some awesome fishing up there with 15 degree weather and blowing snow
