Fished today with 20 plus anglers on the Pursuit, out of 22nd St. Landing in San Pedro.

Headed towards the bait boat to pick up some fresh anchovies.

Met the Gail Force and the Sport King there.

Then the boat headed towards the West End of Catalina Island.

These were some of the nicest looking anchovies I have seen in a long time.

Headed towards Whale Rock for one of our many stops today.

Caught my first fish of the day, a legal sheephead.

I was fishing when we spotted these two gray whales, which were about 50 yards away.

That's close enough for me. Some of the anglers with their catch.

Anglers throughout the day caught blue perch, sheephead, bonita, and calico bass.

Heading home.

Mikey cleaning fish.
About mid channel we were met with a nice cold front, which made for a bumpy ride home. I know it's the opener for lobster season, but be careful out there. The condition got worst as we approached the light house. I hope it lays out, nice and flat for all you lobster guys tonight. Final fish count for me was 5 bonita, 1 sheephead, 2 legal calico bass. It was a slow day for me, but I still had fun. I would like to thank the crew aboard the Pursuit for all their hard work today. Thanks Danny for the hamburger today, the best one I had in a very long time. Thanks for reading and good luck on your next fishing adventure, Pokerface.
