Heenan Lake

Hey all,
I'm set to head up to Crowley next week. I thought I might take a side trip up to Heenan lake for one day. I did a search on it but didn't find too much info. I read that you need a permit to fish it, is that correct? How far is the walk into the lake? Any other info would be greatly appreciated...
