Left Wednesday evening with 21 passengers aboard the Interpid. Picked up some nice looking ‘dines and ‘choves then headed south 100 miles to fish just off the Colonet. Initially fished 25 miles west of the Colonet. We hit a few dry paddies and trolled up some skippies and baby YT. We drove east until we were fishing 10-12 miles west of the Colonet. We picked up about about 40 FYT, all in the 18-25 pound range. All the fish were metered fish except one jig stop where 3 of 4 feathers were hit (of course, mine was the one that wasn’t hit). The trick at these stops was to get your ‘dine down to 50-80 feet with either a sinker (3-4 ounces) or butt hook the bait and a fluorocarbon leader. I had 4 strikes, lost 2 at the gaff and landed 1. No one brought in a fish on the iron. We had a 4 to 5 foot swell with 15-20 mph winds. When the boat was moving, the ride was smooth but on a stop, we were bouncing all over the place.

The Intrepid is a beautiful boat and I will fish it again! It may be a 8 or 10 day trip next fall.

Sorry, no pics...
