I was down at Torrance, searching for some halibut and/or corbina when I hooked a fat one!! After 15 minute, I pulled out a 5 lb.... 6 foot long.... 3 foot in diameter ... a fishing net pole!!! I wasn't too disappointed because the pole gave me a good fight with the rip currents and all.. lol

Was the pole 3' in diameter, or the net?

Must have been a good fight coaching that through the surf.

Those white sea bags put up a good fight as well, but I hate catching those cause there all skin and no meat.

I hope you called the DFG to get the weight certified--it sounds like a world record!

r!der: No pics, no cpr... but I did pull it out and throw it in the trash. It was lifeless the moment I pulled it out of the water.. RIP.

klocked: Those white sea bags are something else. I personally think it did because those bags don't bury into the sand the way this pole did..

one leg: Both, I guess. The pole itself was 3 inches in diameter, but up towards the actual netting part it was 3 foot, as well as the net.

DavidE: Water temp, approximately 64.. it was nice. I heard anywhere between 60-65 is good temp for catching fishing net poles..

JapanRon: Carolina Rig.. w/ a sand crab at the bottom on a hook..

Granny Fish: Tell me about it!!
