C'mon guys.....when are you gonna stop using the guides, or should I say the ceramic inserts of your guides as a hook hanger?

C'mon Tsurikichi, don't you know why they use the guides as hook hangers?
It's because they want you to win the jackpot!!!

Thanks for the report and pics. $30 is a lot of stuff to lose. :Crying:

great report. I had the pleasure of a swrf session on my boat this week wasn't happy since we went for tuna and all we saw were whales and meter marks and a diminishing fuel tank.

i can't wait to hit the rigs i'll probably be there around the opening of lobster season. thanks for all the info you pack into your weekly reports

Hi one_leg,

Thanks, The real killer was not so much the money but I lost some leadheads that aren't made anymore and ........ some swimbaits that had proved to be fish getters (little knaw-marks all over them from past bites) so I've lost their use for the REAL Rockfish season when we go for the Reds !! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hi chris,

You're welcome. In next weeks' report, I'm making a more detailed description of the 4-Sisters rigs from a data point of view. Truth is ... I haven't fished them extensively but sure am curious as to their potential. Thing is .... the more info I dig out for an aside, the better I'll be able to fish them when the boat does hit them.

thanks,

JapanRon

Nice report Ron...way to go...Those pics of the rigs, brick back memories of when I was a kid on the sport king.....fishing those rigs for yellows using 80-100 lb test, with your drag BUTTONED down! (you actually used a pair of dikes to HAMMER your drag down!) Hook one from the stern, tip way up, and RUN backwards towards the bow to pull the fish outta the rigs......FUN!!!

Hi russ88,

OoooooKaaaaay !! Only fun' in' !! The Rockfishing IS fun but .... can get old real quick ! Fishin' bait .... at least there's lots of action ... even if it's only dinks but plastics !!! and less so iron ..... sometimes I'm beggin' to get on the boat and beggin' to get off !!

If you have the time, try both the dropper-loop and reverse dropper loop rig.

Give it a shot !!

Hi ghetto dad,

Sad to say ... the last time I heard of yellows caught there was like 3 years ago from a PB !! Our boat had one mystery fish hooked by the hot stick with some weight to it make the 10 yard dash !!
