Meet up with Matador1238 at MDR jetty on Memorial Day; get there at 6pm and fish until 10pm. The weather was cloudy and water was half clear, there is lot of trashes on the water as usual; almost every other cast I hook up with some kind of plastic bag. We both use dark color swimbait, I was using jighead with Fishtrip and Matador use glup with dropshot rig. The fishing was going very slow; even at our favor spot, we still hardly get any bite, we try different color and the type of retrieve, but the fish just seem to be disappear in that area. My first catch was a croaker, and then I both caught two sand bass and Matador caught two spottie, all fish had been released and we go home at 10.

OMG....then that is my first WSB  Well, if it is 5 feet long and weight 40lb, I can tell it is a WSB for sure .... but for a size like this ... I just call it " Mackerel"

You probably mistook it for a croacker because they are in the same genus but different species

its a corVina. not to be mixed up with CorBina, which are in the surf.

there was a Wolrd record Corvina caught in SD bay a week ago or so, its still going through the process.

i think they are shortfin corVina, also not be mixed up with the orange mouth CorVina which were in the salten sea.

they are fun to catch dont put fingers in mouth though.
