Looking to charter a 6 pack to get in on some of the Yellow tail and Tuna action before its DONE!!! Any recommendations on which boat to go on?

Looking to go out of san pedro.

How much am I looking to spend?
Would these trips typically be overnight? Or does it leave in the morning and come back the same night? This would be my first time going on a private boat. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help!

You can charter the boat for as little as a 1/2 day if you want. It all depends on how much you want to spend. Although your best bet if you want to try for the yellowtail and tuna is to do AT LEAST an overnight trip.

Out of San Pedero I highly recommend the Outrider out of 22nd. St. Landing. http://outrider.976-tuna.com/ They can take up to 9-10 people depending on the length of the trip. Very comfy and very good fishing platform.

I would also recommend the Phantom and Mardiosa out of Pierpoint. http://pierpoint.net/

Highly recommend the Ultra out of Newport Landing too. http://www.newportlanding.com/ultra.html

Thanks for the info Ricky, I'll take a look at those.

Is there boats that target YT and YFT that go out in the morning and come back the same day?

I was thinking these smaller boats go considerably faster so it can be done in one day. (10-12 HR trip)
I'm thinking a smaller 5-6 person boat!

Sure the smaller boat's can run faster but the main question is going to be do you wanna pay the GIANT fuel surcharge your gonna get if they run a max speed?

Some of the 3/4 day party boat's that have been hitting Catalina have been getting some decent numbers on the yellowtail.

Some of the 3/4 day party boat's out of San Diego have been getting in on the tuna also.

Bongo's III out of Davey's Locker is another 6 pack boat. http://www.bongossportfishing.com/

Liquid Coast Highway would be another choice. http://www.lchcharters.com/

Hi-Count would be another choice. http://www.hi-countsportfishing.com/

Both the Hi-Count and Liquid Coast Highway are either out of Newport or San Diego. I don't remember which one.

PERFECT!
That's what I was looking for. I'll call up and start asking questions. I want to get in on this before its over.

I went on an overnight last weekend and the weekend before, out of San Pedro and San Diego. Really sucks when you get off the boat that missed the action and you see others getting off another boat from the same landing with YFT limits!

I'm on a mission!
