Newport Dunes:1st Spottie,only Spottie.9/5

I went to try out some spottie fishing...My first time using plastics there,or at least the only ones i had.I'm not a saltwater fisherman but i got a Spottie.I used a plastic swimbait meant for freshwater and i only fished for 20 min.I casted it out for a couple of times next to the ramp and ZZZZZ hook up!My first smallie yay...:Cool:

Welcome to the Harbor action.

To me it is easier to find them as the cover was obvious in the past but I have now found some new tricks to find them in the open areas as well.

The spotties are addicting and the usual target but am working at the Flattie skills courtesy of a friend!

Good luck on the return trip.

It is actually amazing what will encourage a bite in the Harbor. Don't leave any thoughts or ideas on what they might bite out except to experiment and produce!!!!!!!!!:Big Grin:

Nice spottie, those darn fish are addicting, thanks to Flyngby I cant get enough of them! You did better than my first time trying for them, took me all day!
