Back in the saddle '08 Labor day weekend

Howdy folks :D ........ hope your having a great weekend!

Well Dfish and i decided to hit the surf sat early morning.

He's 1 of the nicest guys i know ,and it had been awhile since we hit the surf - i believe the last time we went he got a few WSB....and if that's the case it's been a loong loong time since we fished together.
Well after talking about it we decide to go and hit a new spot that i had eyed a few weeks ago.

We were supposed to meet up with Defender 33 but he decided to go to Zuma instead.

We went and checked a few spots

So after a nice breakfast we arrived and proceded to fish.
as you can see the conditions were excellent - Overcast,Small surf,some Nice but not apparent structure,minimal salad and as you can see a slack going to pushing tide.
Dave started with a an Aurora Black LC 110 to match the conditions and i started with a beat up metallic sardine 110 and 3 casts in got this

I meausured and released the little beast and proceeded to throw 3 or 4 more casts and was stopped by this

Insert the chorus from that Aerosmith song ......"I'm Back - - - - -- - - I'm back in the saddle again" and oh it felt good finally a FEW decent fish after being away for a little over a month.
I wish i could say thet that was followed by Dave getting a fish or a bite or even myself getting a bite or a fish after but that was all she wrote .
I tried Krocs and 2 different soaking wet spots and told Dave to switch to the metallic Sardine but all por Nada that was it for the day.

We tried a few other spots - but it was a no -go for both of us.
Which sorta sucked because like i said Dave's a real nice guy and i wanted him to get a fish...... oh well that's fishing ..not catching until next time. :D

Congrats on the legals...I've seen your pictures in your previous posts, so i wasn't convinced by that striper pic...nice try, though :ROFL:

beat-up metallic sardines are probably one of my favorite patterns on the surf! :Wink:
