I live in newport, and wanted to try some surf fishing for halibut. Where is the best spot in this area, and whats better from the surf low tide or high tide?

We have never hooked up for Tewinkle bass action yet, but I will be Halibut fishing tomorrow at the Balboa Pier from 6am to about 2pm if you want to join...all you need are two light tackle poles. PM me.
