Ryan, how much did you have to pay Smitty to babysit Jeff all summer?

Nice looking trouties you guys got there.

Are you telling me that you didn't even bother to troll at all?

A friend of mine nailed some of those huge alpers by the docks this summer too.

Did you really have to rub it in? A summer in fishing heaven, I need to get a gig like that. You think they'd hire a 40 someth'n old fart? The Weir is one of my favorite places on earth.

A fly rod, 12 pack of Keystones and the pond all to myself.

You suck!!!
Oh and congratulations on the fantastic summer...

Billy B,
South Lake is approximately 9750' in elevation, give or take a few feet. Weir Pond is about 100 or so feet lower.
Tight lines,

SHEEEIIIITTTT! Dude - you got more quality fish in one summer than most do in a lifetime. I am officially jealous! When I was a young whippersnapper I actually had an opportunity to work at Saddlebag Lakes - would have been in 1973 when they still had big goldens in the 20 Lakes Basin. After seeing your pics here, I am going to post this and then kick myself!

Thanks for the pics! I'm glad to see that you had a great time - and probably had to work too!

Over the years I have left you quite a collection of flies and panther martins in the Wier pond. Hope they helped!

Wow, man. That was an awesome post!! You're livin' the dream up there buddy. I'm up there a few times a season and i wade wier pond every single time, but all I can seem to manage are some beautiful 6" native bows, brookies, and a few small browns. I've never had anything of any size come out of there. What are you throwing out there man? I need to know the secret!! Thanks again man, great report!
