Wanted to take the wiffy deepsea fishing for the 1st time for her B-day (excuse for me to go  :thumb: ) It was between 22nd st or Point Loma, I choose PL 'cause they've been catching lots of yellows. Anyhow, the morning of, got up @ 0245 on the road 0315. Got there just before check-in. Got our gunny sack and JP we jumped on the Mission Belle. Great Capt. and crew and excellent cook. I didnt see the sun all day but it wasnt cold, just gloomy. got the bait barge picked some nice looking dines. Theres so many sea lions just chillaxing. donr with that and off to the islands. 1st stop it was open on cudas. I got 2 and lost like 4-5 wife got 2 using light surface irons. It was the funniest thing seeing her try to fight this thing   But she managed to put 2 on the boat. and the biggest between her an I. The bite stoped when the sea lions came. One man caught 1 yellow one live bait using a rental pole. That thing was ginormous. We moved to several others spot throughout the day, but every where we went he lions would be there  . Afeter the 1st spot the wife and I didnt catch anything else. It was a fun trip my wife leaned how to cast a bait caster and touch and hook live dines (took some time thought)

Rithy,

Big bones for sure!

...taking your wife fishing for her birthday, ain't that like buying her a torque wrench or an engine stand? j/k, I hope she at least enjoyed herself.

For you bone people:

I heard about some short bones in the Redondo area on Friday.

Isn't the Mission Belle out of Seaforth (not Point Loma)?
