Dana point/jetty fishing questions

Well me and my uncle were going to fish Dana point this weekend most likely on one of the jetty's. So i need some advice from u guys. I have tried fishing the jetties with mussels and that worked out great ,but i want to know what are some kind of lures that work well on the jetties. I have tried some fish trap baits but not much luck. If u guys could share me some of your secrets like good spots on the jetty or very effective baits that would be awesome. Most preferably what are some good lures to use on the jetty because LC's are just way to expensive for me. Lastly which jetty do u guys think is better the one closest to the beach or the one in front of harbor?

I use to work on the barge. There are some good halis in there and crokers. Drop shot some zooms.
