2nd Shot at surf fishing

Since I'm in Long Beach for the weekend, I brought some fishing gear. After my last excursion, I packed a little lighter and brought some different gear. I got to the spot around 8 and started throwing lures. I didn't have any luck with the lures. I fished and fished till about 10 when I moved over towards a bridge. I threw out a rig with anchovies and threw lures with the other. As soon as I casted, I noticed small hits. They were very small. I pulled in the lure and set the hook on the other. Bam! Fish on! Or something like a fish. I pulled in my first surf fish. A nice little ray. I did see a post here earlier about the ray, but I did'nt want to mess with it because there was a barb. In the end, I managed three rays, all about the same size.

Thanks TJ. I saw your report last week and saw how you caught those same type of rays. I didn't see if they could sting, but I didn't want to find out!

I was going for some 'butts, but no love from them. That will be my next species on the list!
