Hi all,
Finally was able to take Brad out for the first time since our trip with in May due to Summer school. I think he learned something on the last trip in May with Wingnut because he managed to have his best day on the boat working the plastics.
Just after launch we encountered to Barge coming up the channel into the Back bay and as it was low tide and a narrow channel I decided to give it plenty of room and pull off to the side and wet a line while it made it's way by. It is huge and amazing how they guide it under the PCH bridge to get to the Back bay.
Any way it was a nice choice as we found a new spot to target them. I farmed a very definite legal halibut on the first cast that just about jumped out of the water as I was about to pull up for the next cast and took off on a furious run under a yacht and spit it out before I could even think about setting the hook.
Next hook up took me around a dock piling and I had to work it free before it snapped the line that he probably damaged on the piling.
Then Brad got one on but unable to get it onto the boat. It put up a great fight as no wonder as he went to pull it overboard we noticed the nice Spottie was belly hooked and flipped off before the pic.
So was this going to be one of those days???????????
Not, I managed to pull 3 Spottie's before we decided to move on.
Moved to another new spot I Metered on the way back into the dock last week and picked up a 20" Flattie.
It then became the Brad Show for most of the day as I played Guide and Paparazzi with the camera.
We wasted a few hours going outside the harbor for nothing before returning to changed conditions but Brad still picked up a few more.
Some pics!
Brad's best of 12 all on plastics and on 1's I have yet to have any success on as of yet!!!!!!!
