Hey everyone, here is a report of our pre-holiday trip. We decided to beat the rush and headed up on Wed, the 23rd. Stayed in Mammoth at a place called Juniper Springs. Pretty nice place, with enclosed parking, probably one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at in town. Anyway down to business, started off up north at Trumble and Virginia Lakes. Trumble was really good, as long as you didn't mind the major hatch going on. Large balls of bugs all over, lucklily no skeeters. Campground is not open yet, so we walked in from the road. Virginia was good also, lots of hungry fish. Did mostly C & R. Went to check out Lundy on Thurs, was blown out by the time we made it there, decided to head to the Tioga Mobil Station for lunch. Headed up the pass to Tioga, lots of hungry fish if you can avoid the ice shifting back and forth. Went back to Lundy the next day, the bite was on. Bait and Thomas Bouyants were the ticket. We C & R'd over 30 fish between the 3 of us. Gotta love this time of year, hungry fish and great weather. Here are some pics. We'll be back in 2 weeks !

Lundy is looking pretty low. Did you guys fish by the inlet at all or did you just stay by the dam?

Anyways, great post. It made me jealous.

Hi DanKBecker, we always fish the Dam side. The water was low, but the fish were biting all around.

Nice trip and pictures. Amazing how fast those lakes can fill up when the snow really starts to melt. Lundy was a puddle opening weekend. Lundy always produces good fish at any level.
