Kelp paddies are kelp stringers that have broken off and are free floating, from beds like the ones off La Jolla...

La Jolla is a good choice of you want to fish Kelp beds, Lots of fish there & good variety also.

A deep trench runs into La Jolla from the N/W...

la jolla is also 72 miles from where I live. I used to go to school right there. Too bad back then I was more interested in chasing girls. A different kind of "tail"

Hey lizzay there are kelp paddies off MDR you have to find them idk if there holding any Dodos yet or if they will 2 years ago we got a couple and lost a couple write near the shipping lanes straight out of MDR 13 miles out good luck.I saw tons of them out there that day down deep but they were scared of all the boat pressure and we were slow trolling 200 feet behind are boat thats the only way we made them go no boils or jumpers at all.
