The bro and I decided to do a little paddy fishing out of Dana Point Tuesday with the reports of local Dorado. We boated three and I farmed 6! Well, actually it was two to the kelp paddy, two lost due to backlash (Duh, be ready to get picked up) and two came unbottoned and hook spit! Here are some pics:

Day Two:

Well since the fish were there, we decided to hit it again Wed. SO we jammed home, got a little sleep and were back down at Dana Pint by 0500. We got 4 today, 1 farmed due to spitting the hook. Good volume of fish out there. They are not all eating bait yet!

Rich Hooked up.

Unlike most of my reports, these fish were all gaffed, photo'd and killed!

All fish were caught on flylined dines. We got some of them 7 miles off the domes. Here is some advice, do not pass up anything that is floating, big or small. And maybe consider using a sabiki on one a paddy and load up on mini macs. When we cleaned the fish, they were full of mini macs, one had 9 6-7 inch mini macs in it's stomach. And remember, the Dorado are not always sitting right under the paddy waiting for you, keep your eyes on the water for up to a 1/4 miles from anything floating. And there are also schools of Dodo'd on the move, foaming up on bait when they run into to it, so just keep an eye out. Also use lighter line, 20-25 lb. Good luck.

Eddie & Rich,

Great job on some nice pretty Dorado!!!!!!

Glad to see you get some for the effort you guys put in out there. Looks like it is time for me to set some time aside for your ride as soon as the line at the boarding dock shortens up. Draw my # in line for me and give me a ring when it is my turn.

At least there is some fresh and tasty meat in the hold to last a little while. TACO TIME!!!!

Great photos also guys.
