I went fishing friday out of fishermans landing for an overnite trip , we decided to work the kelp pattys for a sure thing vs the long troll for maybe albacoe . The albies are there just pretty spread out . We went as far as 70 miles south for yellowtail and darado and bluefin , we were on the boat Tracer , great crew that loves to work hard . It was a Co. sponsered trip and I had no choice and had to go , ha . WE DID OK as a group and I caught a mex. limit of 5 Yellows and 1 Darado [ jackpot fish ] . alot of fish lost due to the rookie fisherpeople on board . We had only 11 people fishing on our boat for the day , great weather and pretty flat water . Sardines on 2/0 hooks was the norm. and chovies for chum , water temp. at 71 deg. with line test 20-25 lbs. surface irons were killing the yellows amd even a few dodos . // db

Lucky you!! Great fishing on an empty boat. I love to look down the rail and see an empty rod rack. Sounds like a sweeeeet day you had.

Very nice! Nothing more fun than rolling up on a paddy and knocking on the door to see who's home: YT or Do-Do? Looks like you guys had a nice trip and got a good selection.

What I like about the Tracer is the fact it is limited to 12 people, which makes it easier to charter among friends and family.

Nice job DB i have a trip on the cherokee geisha out of h&m landing leaving monday night fishing this tuesday....but it looks as the yellows ran somewhere far off the counts are way down on all boats the most was like 20 yellows and the least was 3 and that was on the boat im heading out on  hopefully it does a 360 and gets as good as it was.
