Thank you all for your posts. Went Surf fishing 1st time 06/08 in San Simeon. Based on your suggestions caught BSP every day for a week while camping. Kept a few for dinner. Awesome experience. Can't wait for next outing.

nice job on the perch, the middle one looks more like a red tailed surf perch to me, and the top one as well.

Congrats on the epic perch feast.

I remember when I caught my first surf perch.Wait until you start catching all of the various other species. You will be hooked for sure!
I don't ever think I'll give up the surf thing even though the fresh water in in my veins. Something about living in a place where we can take advantage of both, makes us very fortunate compared to folks in the midwest for example.

Keep up the good work.......The corbina are on their way!

The legendary Surf Pirate "Bones" makes an appearance! :Envious: What's up Mike?

Peanut88, nice job on the Perch, I think 99% of us who surf fish for the very first time were introduced to the addiction by these fish. :Big Grin: I still remember my first Perch like it was yesterday.

Fresh from the sea to the pan, under the stars right on the beach! Couldn't ask for a better way to enjoy the outdoors. Good Job!
