Since the sandbass fishing has been really slow lately the captain decided to fish sculpin on tonight's twilight trip. I was glad when I found out, because I haven't fished sculpin for a while. Plus sculpin in my opinion tastes ten times better than any sandbass. We left the dock at 6:30pm and arrived at the fishing grounds within an hour. Once we arrived the fish were biting.

Nice day to be out on the water.

I caught about 20 of these and keep the 5 biggest. I love the colors on these things.

These 2 guys were catching them right and left towards the end of the night.

Sorry didn't get your name, but congrats on the jackpot sculpin.

Overall it was a fun trip. I would like to thank the crew aboard the Monte Carlo for all their hard work. It was a fun trip and I'll be back soon.
Crew: Captain Jacob, deckhand Mannin, and in the galley was Tommy.
What I caught: 20 plus scuplin, largest was a little over a lb.
Bait: Cut squid on a two hook ganion with a 6 ounce sinker. I replace the 2 hooks with 2 1/2 ounce leadheads. This is a killer method for catching scuplin.
Thanks for reading and good luck on your next fishing adventure, Pokerface.

Nice sculpin.

The Monte Carlo is a great boat. They remodeled/repainted the whole boat a while back didn't they? Awesome crew, and pretty user friendly.

Good job :Thumbs Up:

I was really surprise with how much fishing space we had. I had plenty of room at the rail, even though there were over 40 people fishing. Christainmetalhead909 sorry to hear about your slow fishing trip, but it was a nice night to be out on the water. The Enterprise and the Sport King were right next to us on the same spot, I guess the bass fishing must have been really slow lately cause everyone had the same idea. SanDimasLMB thanks. I agree the Monte Carlo is a top notch operation with an awesome crew and I'll continue to ride her until they do me wrong.

Hi pokerface12,

Good job on the rattlesnakes. Never fished plastics for the Sculpin at night but as the depth of the water makes it so no light penetrates anyways it should be ok.

If you go again, please try plastics.

I love fishing the plastic, but that night it was nearly impossible with such a strong current.
