Spent a long 12 day work grind and missed an opportunity to have company on my boat this week so I hit the harbor on foot on Wednesday morning.

Tried my beach spot in hopes of getting a Flattie for nothing but 3 missing tails from my swim baits on short bites from probably my target species! At the end of my sweep of the beach I hopped onto a concrete wall and cast behind the fence for to Spotties in a short period of time. I worked the beach back to my ride with different swim baits for nothing.

As I approached my truck I noticed that dreaded envelope on my windshield. As I was not used to being there on a WED. I will be paying my dues to the city even though I had fed the meter!!!!!!

Move on for some more small bass. Move to Balboa and work the cover relentlessly for more taps but no solid hits. I visited a dock that was occupied by 3 young boys who are jigging a rooster tail. It is that time of year when there are a lot of young kids spending some time off in the area.

I help them rig their Spiderman pole with a Carolina rig and a Ghostie and within 5 min they had a 6 in sandie. They were so stoked that they ran off to tell their fishing tails to whoever. Shortly there after another group of 3 showed up and put on a whole Squid on a trout rig and slung it out there. I again assisted with some rigging and some bait and within 10 min they had a 10 in Spottie.

All the while as my poles were going off while I was assisting the youngsters I managed to just feed them as my attention was on helping the youngster get on some fish!!!!

Managed a couple more small bass after moving on before making the long trip home to get ready for the work grind in the morning.

Hope to get out on the Boat in the Harbor again soon!!!!

Here is a few pics. Failed to take pics of the kids and their excitement. Sorry!

Even a slow day on the water is better than a day of work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great post. Help'n those kids made their day at the waters edge & one they will never forget. And they'll more than likely duplicate your commendable actions with other wetliners as they go on. Nice how good acts can perpetuate themselves. Keep after those Hali's!

Well it could always be worse! Glad to see you keeping your streak alive. Hopefully when I get down there you can teach me your tricks! If you are not out "protecting the forest."
