Went on the Sea Adventure 80 on an overnighter Wed, night and fished all day Thursday.
A friend actually had a free spot for me which has never ever happened so I knew good things were going to happen.
Boat-Sea Adventure 80
Load-23
Fishing area- 55-60 miles SW of Point Loma
Another slow day which has been the norm for the week. First fish caught was a trolled 35 lb. albie so things were looking up. Turned out to be wrong as we trolled for nothing the rest of the day. Stopped on about 5 kelps and found some dorado. I caught the first dorado on the sardine which turned out to be about 20 lbs. and the jackpot. Caught one later in the day as did a few other peeps.
Final count:
1 albacpre
5 dorado
1 yellowtail
The Everingham Brothers Bait guys were on the boat fishing with sardines they have been curing for 33 days and I can actually say that I did not see 1 dead bait in the tank all day! It's too bad the fish were scarce.
