Sorry for the late report, but I have been busy fishing....
Took off Saturday morning and headed up the 395 for a three day weekend with my daughter. Made a few pit stops along the way...it was HOT in the Owens Valley so we headed for higher elevation to beat the heat....destination Rock Creek Lake.

Luckily those dark clouds in the background did not bring rain that evening

Fished for a couple of hours with not even a nibble, the fish I did see on the stringers walking by gave new meaning to the word "dinks". I don't recall the fish being so small in years past and I'm sure the Mt. Whitney Hatchery getting destroyed won't help matters much. Pitched a tent and spent the night under the stars just above Tom's Place at French Camp

Sun going down for the night

Had a great time making a fire, cooking dogs over an open fire....and of course smores! Good quality time with my daughter on her 2nd trip to the Sierras this year. She was a little freaked with all the bear signs and was very helpful in loading our gear in the bear box  Got up early, packed up our stuff and headed further up North to the June Loop....beautiful area to say the least.

Stopped on the way to Silver Lake to this place....cool little spot, great coffee and homemade sweets!

Rented a boat at Silver and headed to "Mario's Spot", named after a guy that worked at the boat house who told me about it four seasons ago. It has yet to let me down.

My daughter was excited to skipper the boat a little, after a brief training session she was off and running!

Got to the spot and booted the skunk right off the bat with this little bow, unfortunately it swallowed the hook so we kept it for later

Weather was warm to start and required suntan lotion and hats....that would change after lunch

Silver Lake....what an awesome place
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/IMG_0022.jpg
The weather started to change as thunder rumbled in the distance, we grabbed some wind breakers and rain gear and headed back to the spot. Baited up and enjoyed the sights when LiL TD says she saw the indicator dancing, when I looked it was motionless and doubted we were getting any action. Sticking to her guns she decided to further investigate, removed the indicator and began a slow retrieve. Moments later the rod goes bendo and a short battle ensues. LT welcome to the brownie crew, great job big girl!

It started to rain, but it did not dampen our spirits or the fishing and we continued to put the hurt on the rainbows.

The weather started to get pretty bad so we finally wrapped it up and headed back to Bishop for the night
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/IMG_0034.jpg
Spent the night in Bishop and decided to hit South Lake before heading home. Took a few shots on the way up the hill

Weir Pond is such a pretty place...
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/IMG_0036.jpg
Got up to the lake and shore fished Boiler Cove. Fishing was pretty tough, but we scratched up a few stockers including one that was followed by a brown that would have gone 4-5lbs. Beautiful sight in the crystal clear water. Weather started getting bad and decided to pack up before it started pouring again
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/IMG_0038.jpg
...not before my daughter got brownie #2 under her belt!

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/IMG_0041.jpg
Took off shorty thereafter and headed back down South. Got a chp escort 10 miles North of Independence as a result of the flash floods. Hopefully the residents are on the road to recovery as the damage was wide spread.
Thanks for reading my long post...
