Ive been told that the only way to tell a corvina from a white seabass is from the orange color corvina have inside their mouth. Is this correct??? I caught what i believe was corvina and a wsb back to back and one had the orange mouth and the other didnt. The wsb was bigger though so that might have something to do with it. Any info would be appreciated....

theres several ways to tell the difference. First and obvious is the fangs that the corvina has. Try and lip one of those lol. WSB also have a line down the belly kind of like a big zipper.

Yea it had two fangs actually. Not huge fangs yet but still noticeable. Are they the same kind of corvina you get outta the salton sea. Those guys had monster fangs.

Alright. Here are a couple pics of the orange mouth corvina. Whiteseabass do not have orange mouths..... Pay attention to the fish. Hard but try.....

i get hit up about this everytime i post a corvina pic. i believe your describing a corvina there, the easiest way to tell is the mouth coloration, though shortfin corvina also have a slight orangeish color also, but the single or double fangs on roof of mouth(=) corvina. a rule of thumb is if there is no black spot behind the side fins its not a white seabass. congratulation,
