Took the annual Mammoth trip and made a few side-trips to:
Convict Lake- 4 trout caught near the inlet on gold kastmasters
Owens River near the monument- 2 trout caught on a white fly ( my first on a fly)
Gaylor Lake- parked just outside the entrance to Yosemite and hiked up to about 11,000 feet and found 5 lakes with wide-open brooktrout. Caught about 20 in an hour and a half. All were safely released. All caught on gold kastmasters.
The mosquito population is absolutely the thickest I have ever seen it. Be sure to bring your bug juice if you go soon.
