so, this is my first post... but i feel at least it is a good one. my boyfriend and i went up to the eastern sierras this past weekend--good but scarce fishing. Got more species than we ever had before! Our excursion consists mainly of the mammoth lakes basin, twin lakes in bridgeport, and some san jacquin river fishing. i have never caught so many species!! plus. cut throats are down! beautiful lakes, beautiful fish... all with little amount of people around!! suprising for a fourth of july trip, but i guess its where you end up. Twin Lakes bridgeport was gorgeous but full of people and devoid of fish... only two stocker rainbows in a few hours of trolling... and that was the best we heard of all day! The rivers and upper lakes were down though... good fishing with brooks and native cut throats.

i can't wait to go back!!

nice little brown out of pvr on the way up-- caught on kastmasters

itty bitty brooks out of the san jacquin... so little but fighters! all on night crawlers... and seriously every cast

GOLDEN hyrbid!!!! this was soooo awesome... out of the san jacquin on night crawlers

sotcher in red's meadows... no luck fishing but beaaaaaaaaaaaaaautiful

cut throats out of mcloud (mcleod)... all barbless. we used the baby trout kast master and a red and gold thomas boyant.

so i guess its true... it's all about quality, not quantity. goldens, browns, brooks, rainbows, cut throats... i would say i got quality

;)

Well done, nice post, Awesome fotos.
Not a bad trip at all. It isnt about the game you take, it is about the pursuit.
I much rather be in the Sierras for the 4th, than sitting here in the OC.

Great Post,1st or not.....Thanks Heevy.

The San Jouquin at Reds Meadow is one of My favorite places Ever...:D

The 1st time I fished it,my Bro's went Golfing(Yuck)that Day & I went solo......
When they got back that evening I told them of the Wonderous scenery & non-stop fishing for little fiesty/colorful natives.I told 'em that it was SO Beautiful that I thought I had a Religous experience(I had recently lost my Mom & a friend...).

They asked Me if I ate any wild Mushrooms in them Meadows......

Thank you for the memories....I gotta get back up there.....
