nph 7-1-08 Mystery fish?????

went to newport for a quick evening session heres what i got. lemme know if you have any gueses on the mystery fish.

That fish is called a "Salema." Alot of those around pier rock pilings. Good Job on the fish!!

Glad to see ya got out so soon again after meeting you for that short time last Tue.

You are posted up in my very corner of that dock that I fish on occasion. That dock can get very crowded at times!!!!!!!! It can at times be very productive but also very busy with the crowd that are there only to target the Flatties while I knock the other species dead, We have caught over 20 species at the dock!!!!!

I will say the first little one is a Salema, a type of schooling species that tend to hang around pilings like perch. I caught 1 at 19th St. dock about a year ago!!!!!

thanx steve it was nice to meet you too. been out almost every day last 2 weeks since i got layed off just livin the fishermans dream haha . its amazing ive been fishing those docks for a few years now and every year it seems like it gets more and more crowded with guys solely targeting halibut!!!! sounds good to me ill take the bass since i dont take anything from the harbor anyway.
