Simply put, there is no other kind of fish that swims along our coastal waters that is more cooperative on the iron than GARRRRR....

God Bless Barracuda!!!

Hi AmbassadorHawg,

Truth is .... as I fish only plastics .... after the first couple .... love turns to hate when it comes to the toothy critters.

For you guys and your iron ... enjoy the bounty while you can and it lasts !!

Good fishin'

Hi BIGRED KILLA,

Thanks. Caught a couple and will never fish for them again !! Please Kill them all !! They won't leave an area until they've ravaged the entire ecosystem !!

Hi one_leg,

If cuda is your game, I'd advise you to get out there NOW !! I'm thinking they might just start their northward move before too long. May be wrong but ....

Hi mrjonez,

With the fish well bled out and the blood-line gone, Barracuda taste just fine in my opinion too.

Hey JapanRon?

You gonna be on the boat (Victory) on Tuesday (July 8)??? My buddy and I will be there. I heard that there was a guy having seizures on the boat today!

Later,

Excellent job out there Ron. Plastics do a number on them cuda. I dont know about them bobber fisherman... but I do remember this old guy "whitey" used to kill the cuda on the feathers. Maybe bobber + feather = cuda?

Hi FishBandit,

Hey Buddy ..... you just dated yourself !! ha ha ha I guess Whity is still alive ... him and his crappy straw hat !! Yes ...... he is one of the very, very few true, old-schoolers that know how to just about catch ANYTHING on the 'Jap feathers' as he used to call them. Quite the character. I very much like the idea of his existance although not always the guys' mentality !! Good heart !! Didn't he go fish the SportKing after being invited off one of my former rides !?

Hi Ricky-Ray,

I broke my usual rule on not fishing holidays but the fact is that past July 4th loads were usually very, very lite and I wanted to get in on a sleeper !! Doh .. Still 64 guys wasn't too bad once the fishing started !!

Hi adiablo420,

Ya ... I like to take pics of individuals but everybody was so packed and intent on the cleaning line, it looked like nobody wanted to mess with it !!

The bags said it all I guess !!

I remember Whitey too and he was an annoying S.O.B.
He was always on the Sports King. It seemed like he lived on the darn boat. He must have fished for free in exchange for clean up duties or something, otherwise I don't know how he would afford to fish the boat so many days. This was back in the day when Bruce was still a deck hand and was starting to skipper the boat once in a while.

Does anyone know if the cudas are still around the horseshoe? I am thinking of going out there this Saturday 7/12
