Hit Crowley last Tuesday and again this Tuesday afternoon for half days of fishing. Quite a few quality fish coming out.

Leighton springs and across from Green Banks is where we found the best bite.

Berkley 2" Grubs were the ticket. Don't mess with the crappie nibbles...don't need 'em to get bit.

Haven't fried 'em up yet. The staff and myself have been slowy but surely getting enough perch filets to do a big fish taco fry with our friends from the other resorts. I'll let you know how good they were in a week or two! mmmmmmmmmmm...................

Out of all my trips to the Sierras, I've never had the chance to get after the perch. Sweet catch!

Nice pan fish. Hopefully they do not go extinct there at Crowley, LOL. I've heard of a lot of folks bringin in net fulls of perch, and we caught a bunch this past Saturday. Do they reproduce and grow rapidly or is there just a small window when they bite? I'm not a Sac Perch expert, but I hope to learn more now. Will the perch bite still be good in August? I think I may be going back then.

Smitty- How close were you to the thick weed area (where you can actually see the weeds reaching the surface of the water)?

Smitty,
Great job.. Those should taste great in some tacos!!!!

Heading up your way this weekend, do have any suggestions on tent camping? Any info would be great I've never camped up there before.

Thanks,

You dog. Well done.
Are you going to start guiding on Crowley:ROFL:

Have you tried PVR for perch?
The first time I caught them in PVR I had no clue what they were, but it was WFO. And I dont care what I catch just as long as they are biting
