Its a late post, I know, but HOLY CRAP! some of the best fishing as far as quality goes. Numbers were fine, but the size was great.

First morning, 6:30 on the rocks across from the lodge, First line in pulls a pan sized within 2 minutes. It went like that for the hour and a half i fished. Took home a nice brook and rainbow.

Next day, more of the same, fishing only in morning and evening, buy my 5 year old daughter caught 5 that night! right off the shore of twin by the tamarack.

But dad was the big winner when he took home an Alpers. Woo hoo!

Overall, great fun - hit gull and June, more pan sized rainbows. back at Twin that evening, my oldest plucked a Beauty.

All weekend threw Powerbat, Chunky Cheeze or Chuncy Chart, always used YUM crawfish attractant or SuperJuice before tossing it in. Worked everywhere. and had a great time.
Also, first time using my new Abu Garcia Stealth Ultra Light - It kicks ***!

NICE GOIN with the fishun and the family time especially.

Mind helpin me? I'm not familiar with either of those scents. Is the name I should look for and where do you find it?

Thanks for the help ... and CONGRATS again!

Info on the YUM can be found here (http://www.yumbaits.com/lures.cfm?d=Attractant%204oz%2E&m=Yum)

Info on SuperJuice can be found here (http://www.cabelas.com/link-12/product/0011805113869a.shtml)

Just spray em on before casting. I found it easier to wipe out a used Powerbait jar, pour it in there, and just dip the bait before casting.

they have both of these at the Bass Pro Shop in Ontario, though i bought the superjuice at Ernies in June Lake.

you go the extra mile to pass along info. Have you tried any of the other YUMs or just the Crawfish. And which one of the Doctor's did you use? ... the salmon/trout?

Congrats on the haul, brother. Those girls of yours are lucky to have a dad who can teach them to fish.

I have only used the YUM Crawfish, and the Trout Superjuice. My brother has used the Powerpait Corn Dip, and works with equal success.

Very nice. That big one was beautiful. I like that you have the kids in on the action too. What test line were you using?

2 lb test. the bigger alpers took me about 10 minutes to bring in.

That's the unfortunate thing,.. fish up in the sierra seem to hit things with 2lb test way more often than 4lb.. but there's that whole part about reeling in a big fish with 2lb on there.

I've heard some people have had problems with the new baits, chunkies, staying on. Any problems for you? And, BTW, what other PBaits did you try?

Sweet fishing. I can't wait till my little daughter is old enough to enjoy fishing for more than 45 seconds before running into the woods or getting into everything with hooks. Great post, never to late to share fish stories.
