Quick report.

Fishing has been prety descent. 2 days of my 10 day vacation in the books. Wide open white bass bite, slow but good quality Hy Brid bite. Good Cat bite. Whites are boiling on top, using spoons and Zara Spooks. Cats on dip and cut bait. Hybrids on live shad. I even caught a new species for me. An Aligator Gar on cut shad. It was only 2 ft long and its teeth are unbelievable. As nasty as a baracuda.

Total Count for 2 days:

White Bass - 100+
Hybrids - 4 (Up to 6 lbs) Ones pictured are about 3
Catfish - 6 up to 2 lbs
Aligator Gar - 1

Heres some pics. Sorry for the quick post but on my way out again.

the Gar was caught at night and I was kinda lucky from what people say. There snout is pure bone and the fact I hooked him in the tongue was the only deal I was able to land em. I will be rocking the night action some more and If lightning strikes twice, Ill snap a photo this time.

 Thanks for the fishing report from Texas.

The white Bass you talked about and have pics of, are they related to striper ?

White bass are related to the striper. Hybrids are a cross between a white bass and a striper. In California they often call them Wipers just for the simplicity of the name. They Hybrids/Wipers are sterile though in the cross breeding. Lakes like this becasue they can control the population of them vs. the white bass or stripers. White bass are one of the most fun fish ever to fish for. Its like a big crappie that boils often and loves to eat.

Way to go on Ray Hubbard, you got some nice stripers there. I pass over the lake every day on my way to and from work on I30 and that's the 1st I've seen of any of the fish pulled out of there. Maybe I'll have to take a break from fishing my ponds and stop there to wet a line on the way home one of these days.
